World Bipolar Disorder Day (WBDD)

Bipolar Disorder is a complex psychiatric condition that affects equally men and women.

Those living with this disease, suffer from uncontrollable manic and depressive episodes, that if left untreated can impair the person’s quality of life.

Nowadays more than 1 million people live with this disorder in Italy, despite this, it happens really often that society labels them as “mad”, “freak” or “ people who only seek attention”.

That’s the reason why most of the diagnoses and the treatment setting are late.

The 30th of March, World Bipolar Disorder Day (WBDD), is a way to raise awareness.

Support, Encouragement, Empathy: these are the most important things a person with Bipolar Disease needs. Family and loved ones play a difficult, but also really important role as guide and support.

Medicines and/or particular activities are part of the therapy suggested in case of Bipolar Disorder, and it’s really important to support the person to stick to the treatment.

A new app, MyTherapy, is a useful tool in this case: you can set your whole treatment regimen, pills and activities reminder, monthly report.

All this in order to ease the management of the treatment, so that you have less chance to forget intake, activities or appointments.
